LIFE WITH SIX KIDS – AND A HOLIDAY WITHOUT THEM!

I have this mum I follow on Insta, she jet-sets around the globe on holidays, in fact, makes her living from it.  She has two kids, sometimes the kids are there, but mostly they’re not.  It’s both perplexing and intriguing.  How does she do it?

It’s likely more complex than it appears, because the truth is, leaving any number of kids at home, whilst you head away, requires a magnitude of prep and of course the more kid you have, the more prolific the task. Read more

SIX KIDS – ON A ROAD TRIP

We recently took the kids on a road trip to Noosa, the happiest place on earth.  From our house in Sydney, that means approximately a 14-hour drive straight (not including bladder-related interruptions).

Being a little inclined to take on a challenge, we thought this could be fun.  We were dying for some warmth and what could be better to provide this than sunny Queensland.  We figured that with any Griswald-style blowouts it would take us closer to 16 hours.

SUMMER & SWEATY – SIX KIDS AT CHRISTMAS

I love Christmas, doesn’t everyone?  I love the sacredness, the socialising, the weather (even though I do fantasise about a white Christmas) and the simple fact that a year has been achieved and is in-the-bag!

But don’t get me wrong, I do resent the pressure and the forced ‘jolly’ imposed by the commercial drivers of our society and when there are loads of stakeholders in a family’s Christmas, there are all the more people to keep happy and potentially.. disappoint.

It’s budget time and the pollies are hard at work with their spin and rhetoric about how they’re going to spend the money that you and I worked hard for last year.
